May 5: Trailing 15-18, Vivek Sangh, Vasai beat Dr Shirodkar Sports Club 41-31 to enter the women's semi-final of the AllIndia Level Kabaddi tournamment conducted by Maharishi Dayanand Sports Club at Worli Sports Club today.Vivek, winner at the Shivai All India tournament, which concluded recently at Thane, were trailing by three points in the first-half but made a strong comeback in the second.
National players Priti Desai and Gautami Raut played a vital role in Vivek's victory undoing some fine performances by Supriya Dudhavadkar and Leena Puralkar of Shirodkar's.
In the men's section, Air-India crushed Bombay Port Trust (BPT) 27-6 in front of the 5,000 odd crowd that had gathered to watch the proceedings.The BPT players failed to come up with a strong challenge against the airmen.
