Kalina, Borivli sail through

MUMBAI, May 5: Kalina and Borivli have qualified for the semi-final from Group A in the 12th Bipin Memorial Football Association under-16 free summer vacation camp for boys and girls at the Karnataka Sporting Association ground, Churchgate. Both the qualifiers beat the Churchgate Camp team in their individual encounters.

Kalina got past Churchgate 3-0. Mohaamad Khan, the speedy left-winger scored the first two goals for Kalina and then substitute Jonathan Miranda completed the tally.

In an earlier match, Blaise Moras scored the match winner for Borivli in the second-half against Churchgate.

In group B, good keeping by Andheri's Ranjit Vishwajit Matkar and Malad's Vivian Oliver ensured the match ended in a goalless draw.

AMAR DOWN PARSEE: Amar Cricket Club scored a three-wicket win over Dadar Parsee Colony in the Santosh Kumar Ghosh Trophy (u-14) cricket tournament at the National Grounds.

Brief Scores: Dadar Parsee Colony 115 in 26 overs (Vaibhav Shah 26, Markesh Rao 24; SanjayMadarkar 3-13, Amay Achrekar 4-13) lost to Amar CC 116-7 in 29.3 overs (Ninad Majumdar 17; Gaurav Nikam 3-22); Man of the Match: Amay Achrekar.

Deutsche triumph: Deutsche Bank won the Pennzoil Bombay Gymkhana Merchants Cup six-a-side hockey tournament. In the finals today they trounced Citibank 5-0. The Bombay Gymkhana Salver was lifted by Tata's who beat Citil 4-0. In another final, HDFC pipped P&ONeddlyoyd 1-0 to win the Bombay Gymkhana Bowl title.
