Babu scales new heights

PUNE, May 5: Forty-four years old S Ramesh Babu, who has many records to his credit added another one in his kitty when he successfully came non-stop from Bangalore to Pune astride a Bajaj scooter.Ramesh, a teacher by profession took 20 hours and 9 minutes in covering the distance of 855 kms. But for the Belgaum stretch wherein Ramesh had to over come the nature (rains), there was nothing that hindered him. In all the scooter, an 1989 make consumed 20 liters of petrol and 800ml of oil. Ramesh set off the venture on May 1 at 5 a.m from Bangalore and reached Pune on May 2 early in the morning (6 a.m), driving at an average speed of 51.9 kmph in the day and 31.5 kmph in the night.
