As director Janak Toprani (of Rashoman-fame) and the Vasavadatta cast busy themselves, giving final touches to the play -- with just over a week left, before the curtain goes up.

Painting of his own will
At 74, Ramkumar is freer today than when he first started painting -- five decades ago. "Now, I paint for myself and take liberties as there is no compulsion to sell or complete a painting. This is freedom," he says. Freedom from economics, at last -- a subject he has been shackled with since a long time.
