Bar attendant found dead in Trombay
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, May 16: A body of a woman with her throat slit open was found at Maharashtra Nagar in Trombay this morning. According to Trombay police, though the suicide note in English said that her husband and relatives should not be held responsible for her death, prima facie evidence suggest that it is a case of murder. The police found blood stains on a wall from where the body was recovered. There is evidence to show that the body was dragged a few meters, said the police. The suicide note was signed by the woman, Kavita Sitaram Lakde, who could have been between 32-35 years. The deceased was a bar attendant. The murder was a fall-out of an illicit relationship with a paramour, the police suspect. In a similar incident on May 12, the police found a body of a woman with strangulation marks on her neck. The woman has been identified as Shenda Chavaria and her husband Kalu is reportedly missing since the day of the murder. On April 17, the police traced the body of Farida Sheikh in the same area. Farida wasbeheaded. She allegedly had an estranged relationship with her husband. The police are trying to piece up the three murders as all the three victims had illicit relationships.
