MUMBAI, May 16: A crisp pass by captain Swati Kadu to Anagha Katadkar helped her score a basket from a fast break and gave SB City College, Nagpur, a 25-23 victory over Satara Gymkhana in the six-team round robin league match of the Mahendra Pratap Sharada Pratap Singh Memorial Trust-sponsored State-level Basketball tournament, conducted by the Fatima School, Vidyavihar, at their court here today.In fact Swati's passes were a feature of the match which ran close for its entire length of time. Everytime Satara Gymkhana would threaten to run away with the game through captain Kanchan Nalawade's baskets, SB City College would bridge the gap and draw level.
In an earlier match, Ajinkya Gymkhana (Satara) large due to the presence of international players, Arnika Gujar and Pradnya Mane, were able to restrict and double team the forwards of Agredneya Vyayamshala (Dombivli) and post a comfortable 63-36 victory.
Last night, Ajinkya had braved a storm, literally, and defeated SB City College, with the formerwinning 48-34.
