Students resent delay in issuance of certificates
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
DERA BASSI, May 17: The delay in the issuance of certificates by a school in the township has put its students and their parents in a dilemma. It is learnt that as many as 30 students of Class V of Government Primary School in Sundra village of the Dera Bassi block had appeared as regular candidates in the examination conducted by the Punjab School Education Board in February this year.Though the result was declared on March 31, the certificate of all 30 successful candidates has so far not been released by the school authority on one pretext or the other. While talking to Chandigarh Newsline, the village sarpanch, Bhajan Singh, alleged that bickerings among the school staff had resulted in the delay. Several visits by the parents of the concerned students to the school authority had yielded no result so far, he added. The sarpanch urged Punjab Education Minister Tota Singh to intervene and save the students and parents from harassment.
