PUNE, May 17: Priyadarshini Sports Centre `A' and Pune Police moved into the semi-finals of the Aga Khan Open knock-out tournament with one-sided wins over Pune Police Boys and Super XI at the PCMC Poligras Stadium today.In the first match, Pune Police spearheaded by Mark Anthony's brace put an end to the aspirations of Super XI while Priyadarshini `A' struck thrice in either half to register a 6-0 win over 1997-98 MHA Junion League winners Pune Police Boys.
In the Pune Police-Super encounter the cops went ahead five minutes into the second quarter of play. Right-outer Kamlakar Gaikwad darting in from his wing position did well to push home a Harish Sakpal pass.
In the second half, Mark Anthony who played on the left-wing utalised Harish's through passes to its fullest to knock in goals in the 34th and 34th minutes.
Super XI did have their chances, the first in the opening quarter when Vinod Kore made a mess of things and then in the 48th minute when Feroz Sheikh pushed wide.
Later, Priyadarshini displayed good ideas negotiating penalty corners when they sounded the boards twice making it a cent percent conversion in the 18th and 20th minutes -- on both counts Silas Gaware proved successful.
In the 22nd Asif Sheikh combined with Sachin Pawar to sign off the first half 3-0. Changing ends, Rakesh Pollaya made no mistake with Ravi Thyagrajan's pass and consolidated their position when Vijay Benedict found the goal in the 50th and eight minutes later his brother Vimal rounded up the tally.
