Pace and Link CC in semis

CHANDIGARH, May 17: Sanjay Dabas was the star performer for Link Cricket Club in their 62-run victory over Royal Cricket Club in the Super League match in the Growgreen Cup cricket tournament at Punjab Engineering College here today.

Link CC won the toss and elected to bat. Sanjay hit nine bouandaries to score 65 runs which helped the team pile up 157 runs in the allotted 25 overs for the loss 9 wickets. Sanjay was ably supported by Rajeev Khanduja who contributed 35 runs to the total.

Karan scalped three wickets while Ravi Pal got two.

However, Ravi Pal's fine half century came to naught when other Royal CC batsmen failed to fight it out. The team was back to the pavilion for a paltry 95 runs in the 21st over.

Rajeev, Satish and Rai Bahadur got two wickets each.

Pace XI beat Gallant XI by 7-wickets, despite a fine knock by Gurpreet, who hammered 70, in another super league.

With this the two teams also qualified for the semifinals. In fact they will clash with each other while Fighter `A' will know about their semifinal opponent only a day before they will be played on May 24.
