Two persons murdered
Two persons were murdered in two separate cases registered with the police stations. Altercations over drinking water in Naswadi and Kwant villages is believed to have led to the murders, the rural police said on Sunday. Ramesh Bhil, 14-year-old tribal boy, was stoned to death by Dhuska Bhil, both residents of village Tisadia, over the issue of drinking water from a well.

Police said the boys quarreled after their mothers had a fight over water earlier this week. In another, a youth Amansinh Rathwa was hit with a wooden stick to death by accused Narsinh Rathwa, both residents of Manakadi in Kwant taluka after the former tried to let his bull drink water from a particular pond. Both the assailants are absconding and the investigations were on, police said.

Theft
Some miscreants broke into a jewellery shop at Dandia Bazaar main road in the wee hours of Sunday and decamped with silver utensils and idols worth Rs 2.88 lakh, the Raopura police said on Sunday. The jeweller, Vijay Akbote, a resident of Prassana Society, complained to the police that the miscreants broke into his shop by breaking the shutter and window. The police have registered a case and are investigating.

Suicide
One Pir Mohammad, 27 and a resident of Bhutdijampa, ended his life by consuming a poison, the police said. He was rushed to SSG Hospital by his father on Saturday where he succumbed. The matter is being investigated.

Cop held
A constable, identified as Poonam Bamania, was caught by the public for carrying country liquor. He was handed over to the police after severe thrashing.

According to police, Bamania was bringing 40-litre of liquor in pouches worth Rs 800 on his scooter (GJ-6-B-5554) from Savli. When his scooter collided with a car (GJ-6-JJ-7473) the pouches spilt over the road. No one was hurt in the collision. Enraged by this Bamania and his accomplice, Jagdish were beaten up by the public and handed over to the Fatehgunj police. Bamania was not on duty. A case has been registered against him, the police added.
