HISAR, May 17: Election Commission observers for Adampur Vidhan Sabha by-election immediately after their arrival have started touring the constituency, elections to which will be held on June 3.The Election Commission has appointed three observers to ensure free and fair elections.
The Adampur seat fell vacant due to the election of former chief minister Bhajan Lal to the Lok Sabha from Karnal constituency in February.
The Congress, taking no chances, has given the ticket to Kuldip Bishnoi, son of Bhajan Lal, who has nurtured this Assembly segment of Bhiwani parliamentary constituency.
Prestige of the ruling Haryana Vikas Party-Bharatiya Janata Party is at stake in these elections.
Haryana Lok Dal (Rashtriya) and Bahujan Samaj Party alliance, which contested the February LS polls successfully in the state, have put up their own party candidates to make the contest a four-cornered one.
Bhajan Lal, Surinder Singh, Haryana Vikas Party , both MPs and Om Parkash Chautala, the HLD (Rashtriya) supremo, had already launched their election campaign despite scorching heat conditions.
