Cong politicising farmers' suicides, says Nirupam

NAGPUR, May 19: The election campaigning office of Ashish Jaiswal, Shiv-Sena candidate for the Ramtek assembly constituency bye-poll, was inaugurated at Ramtek recently by MP, Sanjay Nirupam.Nirupam launched a scathing attack on the Congress party for giving a political colour to the farmers' suicides in the region. He said that most of the farmers had committed suicide due to personal reasons. He gave details about the steps taken by the State Government for the farmers' benefit. Nirupam said that the State Government is giving a thought to waiving off loans to the farmers, and in case complete loans could not be waived off due to economic problems, then at least the interests on the loans would be waived off. The State Government is thinking of providing free seeds and fertilisers to the farmers for the next cropping season, the MP said. He said that the chief minister had sent a letter to Jaiprakash Mundada, Minister of Co-operatives to sanction Rs 50 lakh for the Babdeo Sugar Factory at Mouda. He saidthat the amount will be available to the factory by June 15-20. Nagpur city chief of Shiv Sena Pravin Barde, treasurer Ramesh Mishra, and publicity chief Sanjay Hirulkar were also present.
