MUMBAI, May 19: Karan Mordani upset sixth seed Irshad Allana 8-1 in the boys under-12 first-round encounter of State Junior Ranking Tennis tournament, conducted by the Bhushan Tennis Academy, Andheri, today.In a match of long rallies, confident Mordani committed minimal errors and displayed some great stroked to upset the applecart of Allana 8-1.

ONGC prevail
ONGC just about defeated Naigaum Police Head Quarters 2-1 in the first round of the Air-India Trophy Football tournament, sponsored byAir-India and conducted by the Mumbai District Football Association, at the St Xavier's ground, Parel, today.
After a goalless first-half, it was the policemen who took the lead in the 38th minute through Rajesh Rane who capitalised on a defensive lapse in the ONGC box.
But ONGC did not give up. In fact, the reverse, ironically, prompted them to better doings and it was not long before they scored the equaliser after ten minutes. ONGC's Mahendra Male headed home a cross from the left by Neil.In the 56th minute, Aldrin Lobo took a freekick and Sachin Dongrekar nodded home the winner.
YMCA tennis
The Bombay YMCA will be conducting their first Maharashtra State Ranking tennis tournament from May 21 to 31. The main draw commences of May 25 for boys and girls under-10, under-12 and under-14. The last date for entries is extended from May 19 to May 20.
