The victim, Santoshi, was stabbed nine times in the chest, abdomen and hands. He was rushed to the Hindu Rao Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Though the accused, Rajkumar, fled the spot he was later traced.The accused had seen his wife talking to Santoshi last night. Rajkumar and Santoshi had a fight over the matter following which the former stabbed the latter in Shora Kotha area in Subzi Mandi. ``Santoshi has been involved in a number of criminal cases. He used to sell liquor in the same locality, while the accused owned an STD booth,'' DCP S.N. Srivastav said.

According to the police, there was tension in the area yesterday as people gathered to express their resentment over Santoshi's death.
