Highly placed sources said Desai warned the civic chief to be careful of officers who advocated their own cause and interests rather than putting forward the woes of the citizens and attempting to redress their grievances. When asked to clarify, Desai said he had informed the Municipal Commissioner about the ``nature'' of the civic officers.
