Two killed in wall collapse

NEW DELHI, May 19: Two persons were killed and five injured in separate incidents of wall collapse last night.

The first accident occurred in the Dakshinpuri area of Ambedkar Nagar. Forty-year-old Sripal, his one-and-a-half-year-old son Prakash, his daughter Balu and 35-year-old wife Rani were buried when the wall of their house collapsed. They were all rushed to AIIMS where Sripal succumbed to his injuries. The Ambedkar Nagar police are investigating the case.

In a similar incident, Arif, 10, was killed instantly when the upper portion of the wall of a Sriniwas Puri house collapsed. Sushida, 11, and Sabnoor, 4, both daughters of a neighbour, Rasheed, were injured in the incident.The children were sleeping on the roof of a single-storeyed house when the wall of the adjacent house collapsed. The owner of the house has been identified as Mujibur Rahman.

The injured children have been admitted to the Holy Family Hospital. The Sriniwas Puri police have registered a case.
