DMK plans tour in honour of birthday boy Karunanidhi

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHENNAI, May 22: On June 3, the DMK is going to hold a Dravidian culture tour. So what's the big deal, you say. But hold your breath, this is not a tour that will take you to the memorials of Periyar and other Dravidian leaders like C N Annadurai. Far from it, the tour package includes a trip to Ekambareswarar and Kailasanathar temple in Kancheepuram and the famous Thirukazhugandram temple.

Starting from the Valluvar Kottam constructed in the late 1970s during an earlier stint of Karunanidhi as chief minister, the tour will cover the museum at Egmore, Mamallapuram, Ekambareswarar and Kailasanathar temples, and wind up at the Thirukazhukundram temple.

The tour is being held to celebrate the birthday of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, which falls on June 3.
