Sena will crumble under its own weight: Bhujbal

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
YAVATMAL, May 22: Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Council Chhagan Bhujbal has predicted that Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray is destined to see his empire crumbling before his own eyes.

Bhujbal, who was here to lead the morcha of farmers and farm workers was addressing a press conference at the guest house. Many Sena leaders who revered Balasaheb have now seen his real face. This new realisation will ultimately lead to the fall of Thackeray's empire, Bhujbal predicted.

Appreciating Sena MLA Ganesh Naik for his dissidence, Bhujbal said though it is not going to be easy for Naik in future, the dissidents like him will eventually bring down the Sena empire. The election of Naik's candidate as Mayor of Mumbai by defeating Thackeray's candidate, can be considered as the defeat of the Sena supremo at the hands of his own people. This is the beginning of the end of Sena empire, Bhujbal observed.

Replying to a question if the meeting of MLAs called by Congress leaderSharad Pawar at Delhi was aimed at toppling the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance Government in the State, Bhujbal said that we have no plans to topple the State Government. It will crumble under its own weight, he said. We are interested in election of maximum number of Congressmen to Rajya Sabha and State Legislative Council, he added.

Referring to the question about the successor to Balasaheb Thackeray, Bhujbal said the question need not be answered as Thackeray's empire will be ruined before his eyes.

In connection with Revenue Minister Narayan Rane's appeal for not politicising the issue of suicides committed by farmers, Bhujbal said fighting for the problems of farmers should not be seen as an act of politics. In fact, Rane should come out of politics and take initiative to solve the farmers' problems, Bhujbal suggested.
