RPI leaders pulled up for failure to reach poll pact

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NAGPUR, May 22: The senior Republican Party of India (RPI) activist, Shivshankar Bankar, criticised the party leadership for their failure to bargain with the Congress for seat adjustments in the ensuing by-elections of the State Assembly to be held on June 3 next.

Bankar pointed out that the RPI failed to get a single seat through the poll adjustment. The Congress has fielded its candidates in all ten seats in the coming by-polls. He blamed RPI chief R S Gavai, Athawale and Jogendra Kawade for the the present situation. On the other hand, Dr Prakash Ambedkar, a good bargainer, was deliberately sidelined by these leaders for their selfish political goals, he further alleged.
