Hazarika quits ministry

GUWAHATI, May 22: Assam Transport Minister Pradip Hazarika who has been named in a CBI charge-sheet in connection with the murder of a senior IAS officer way back in 1981, tendered his resignation from the government tonight, adding to the crisis in the two-year old AGP-led government.Hazarika, who is allegedly involved in the murder of ES Parthasarathi, the then Upper Assam commissioner, has been named alongwith seven others in the charge-sheet submitted to a Shillong court.
