13,000 bottles of liquor liquor seized

BILASPUR, May 22: The district police seized 13,000 bottles of country-made liquor, including 11,000 bottles of foreign-made liquor, in Chagar area of the district, yesterday. The large haul was made by the police when it conducted three different surprise raids under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent of Police Surinder Verma. The liquor was being produced and sold illegally. SP Anurag Garg said that the clandestine production and sale of country-made liqour had been going on for two years. He said the raids had been conducted following a tip-off. He said the raids were conducted at village of Behal, Bhakra and Bherda as booty was kept in rented premises.
