Let us thank God
Nikhil Sharma
The new upcoming generation believes in readymade things. The things possessed by them is ``usual'', `normal' and `readymade' for them.``Hands are there, so what? Eyes, ears, tongue, so what so great?? Legs have been given. Big Deal! These are answers given by them. What if one of them is harmed or damaged in a mishap. My frequent visits to the hospital has really taught me a few things which should be spirited and captivated in all human beings, whether old or young. The conditions of the patients in the hospitals is very miserable and pathetic. Some have lost their sense of hearing, some the power of sight, legs, hands or spiral cord. Just imagine, how do they survive with out the organs and senses? The almighty has presented us with all of them, that's why we are fit and fine. But does that mean that we should be thankless to God for them. Should we just ignore the presence of these indispensable powers? Well, the upcoming generation believes in it. (Sorry to say it but it's the truth, folks!) No one seems to be thankful enough (not even me) for having being presented with such wonderful presents. Is there any thing more precious and valuable than them. So why do we take it for granted? Why not be thankful to God. Should n't we all say ``Thank you God for giving us all the necessary elements for a healthy life.'' On the contrary, we think ``Oh! God as usual we are sound and are fit and fine like humans. So what's the fuss about.'' You can't name living a life without a hand, a leg, or without expressing our feelings in the form of words. When will that time come when all the people will join hands and thank God and say ``Oh! Almighty. I don't know how I can thank you for giving me the powers which you possess. I'll be always satisfied with these gifts: Wealth and fame is not what I seek. Health is what I seek for having all the powers and sense organs is the diamond, is the sapphire, is the jewel of life. So lets join our hands and thank God for his gift, the world's most precious gift, complete body. Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
