AHMEDABAD, May 24: All the seeds in the boys under-12 and girls section sailed smoothly into the second round of the 11th Centurion Bank National Childrens Chess Championships which commenced at the Indian Institute of Management hall here on Sunday.P Harikrishna and K Humpy both world champions from Andhra Pradesh took their own sweet time to topple their rivals. Harikrishna could have finished his game much earlier against his Maharashtra rival N Kamat.
Harikrishna probably to get some practice and acclimatisation may have done it. But Humpy swiftly cut short her rivals moves. She was not in a mood to prolong the proceedings and Gujarat's Vivek Kothari was all at sea against here. Probably he was overawed by the world champions reputation.
