NEW DELHI, May 24: The South Delhi police claim to have busted a gang of robbers with the arrest of six youths an hour after they reportedly looted four TV sets in the Badarpur police station area today.According to the police, the robbery was reported at around 2.45 p.m.. The youths -- Rajiv, Amit Kumar, Amar Singh, Manoj Kumar, Anil Kumar and Avinash Chand -- stopped their Tata Sumo near a cart which was being used to transport the television sets. Before the cart-puller could react, the youths forcibly packed the TV sets into their vehicle and sped away.
Om Prakash, who was to deliver the sets to a client in Mathura Road, gave details about the course of events leading to the robbery to the local police. A case was registered at the Badarpur police station and wireless messages were sent across the area.
The Tata Sumo, along with the six occupants, was intercepted near the Pehladpur police post. Even as the youths were detained for questioning, the Sarita Vihar police reached the spot along with the complainant, who identified the youths as the persons who had looted the TV sets.
