HP power board engineers laud CM's gesture

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
SHIMLA, May 25:The State Power Board Project Engineers' Association has lauded Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal's announcement not to allocate any hydel project to NJPC and the execution of the Kol Dam and Parbati projects through joint venture with NJPC and NHPC, respectively.

The general secretary of the association said the stand of the government on Rampur project should also be the same and if the previous government had taken any decision to the contrary, it should be reversed.

The association also reiterated its demand that an elaborate agreement ensuring a monitoring arrangement and financial contribution be entered into each project.

The agreement must also clearly incorporate percentage of staff participation from investigation to operation and maintenance stage, and the service terms and conditions.
