HPCC criticises Kondal's remarks

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
BILASPUR, May 25: State general secretary of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee Biruram Kishore and member of AICC Ram Lal Thakur have termed the statement of former deputy speaker of Vidhan Sabha Rikhiram Kondal MLA regarding ``vertical'' division of Congress party after June 3 polls as ``preposterous''.

In a statement here they pointed out that the Congress party was behind Virhhadra Singh and there was no question of anyone joining the BJP party. They said by seeking support of Sukh Ram the BJP had said goodbye to much talked about ``principles, morals and ideals''.

They said it was the BJP which interrupted the proceedings in Lok Sabha over the telecommunication scam. They said Kaudal should see reality for himself as the BJP candidate Maheshwar Singh, who is the former Raja of Kullu, still followed ``royal'' tradition and the Kullu dussehra was an evidence to the fact. Virbhadra Singh had won elections with record number of votes, which proved he ``ruled the hearts'' of the people, the release said.
