Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo and former chief minister Laloo Prasad Yadav yesterday said his party was planning to forge a new political front to pull down the BJP-led coalition government at the Centre if it did not give up its "jingoistic" stand on the nuclear tests.
  Cong, CPI assail VHP for move on Ayodhya
Congress and the CPI yesterday accused the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) of "clandestinely" preparing to build a Ram temple at Ayodhya. The move was aimed at diverting public attention from its failures on the governance front, Congress spokesman Salman Khursheed said.

In an attempt to pre-empt the plans to corner the Government on the recent nuclear blasts, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee yesterday met leaders of various Opposition parties to explain the various aspects of its decision. The ostensible reason for Vajpayee's meeting with these leaders was to finalise the agenda for the Parliament's budget session which begins on Wednesday.
