COLOMBO, May 26: Sri Lankan schoolboy spinner Malinga Bandara is set to make his debut in the first cricket Test against New Zealand at the R Premadasa Stadium here tomorrow.Bandara, 18, is Sri Lanka's newest spin discovery. The leg spinner played at the Youth World Cup held in South Africa early this year and took 16 wickets.
He will be one of three spinners in the team that could benefit playing on a spinner-friendly pitch. The other two are Muttiah Muralitharan and left armer Niroshan Bandaratillake. Bandaratilleke, 23, has been nudging the selectors since playing in a home series against England `A' early this year and a three-day game against New Zealand last week in which he took four wickets. They will go into the match with only one fomorrow. The tourists have three spinners in Daniel Vettori, Paul Wiseman and Mark Priest.
