A touch of India

Ritika Ramtri
The Pride Hotel lobby is also an atrium lobby. As you wait in the maroon upholstered chairs your eye travels to the recently renovated lobby bar. The lobby is divided into two seating areas which are highlighted by the maroon and white carpets.

The ethnic decor is offset by the stone wall with murals. Ganeshas are seen aplenty and augur well. The coloured fibre glass ceiling allows the natural light to come in. As you look up, you notice the artificial plant on every floor, but what is really prominent is the rangoli that is freshly made everyday. According to Vijaylaxmi Mani (Assistant Executive - Housekeeper), the rangoli not only adds colour, it also distinguishes the lobby from others. She tells us that the cleaning is done in the night while the mornings are reserved for the upkeep.

Aarti Sinha (Assistant Manager - Sales and Marketing) tells us that service is especially looked into. The marketing team briefs the Guest Relations Officer and Front Office about the special needs of the client. So as soon as the guest arrives at the lobby, he is taken care of. ``It is the personalised touch that matters," she informs.

From the lobby one can see the Golden Arch, the Crystal Hall, the Regal Room, Green Park and the lobby bar which looks especially impressive. On the cards is a complete face lift. First the lobby bar was renovated, after which the porch was taken on. Next on the agenda is the lobby. According to Aarti the biggest USP of their lobby is its ethnic ambience and the special Indian welcome that you get once you enter.
