Relay hunger strike by health karamcharis
The Joint Action Committee of the Health Karamcharis Unions (JACHKU) on Tuesday started a relay hunger strike at Nirman Bhavan. The committee spokesman said that the police imposed Section 144, removed their tents and did not permit them to continue with the strike. The members said that the government and police were resorting to strong-arm tactics to suppress their lawful demands. JACHKU stated that it would protest against the government for arresting seven of its leaders and urged it to start a serious dialogue on the issue.
