SINGAPORE, May 28: German tennis ace Boris Becker admits to being very uncomfortable when he was photographed nude in the company of 30 or 40 strangers recently.``Normally I undress only in front of my wife,'' Becker said in an interview broadcast last night by Singapore Government television. He said it took a couple of hours, and some coffee chat, before he became comfortable enough with the photographer to pose for underwear ads ``in a room full of strangers.''
Becker, on a watch promotion tour, shed little light on whether he might return to Wimbledon, the tournament he won three times before last year's loss to Pete Sampras. Becker had announced his retirement from Wimbledon play.
Speaking in general about cutting back his 45-50-week per year tennis playing schedule to spend time with his family, Becker said yesterday, ``I decided to stop when I was still on top of my profession, not when others are beating me all the time and it became obvious I had to go out.''
