No attack on Pak stations, says Malik

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, May 28: India's Army Chief General V P Malik today accused Pakistan of launching a ``disinformation campaign'' about a pre-dawn attack on its nuclear facilities and said the country had neither mobilised its forces nor had any plans for carrying out such an attack.

``They (Pakistan) wanted to carry out nuclear tests and they were trying to find an excuse to justify their action by raising a hue and cry over a possible attack,'' General Malik told a group of senior editors at a briefing, minutes before news trickled in about the nuclear tests. He said India was in fact aware of ``some mobilisation'' of troops being carried out from across the border.
