Mamata demand Art 356 in Bengal
In the lastest development, the Trinamool Congress last night decided to "suspend" its support to the Vajpayee government till further notice. According to its party chief in Lok Sabha Ajit Kumar Panja, the Trinamool Congress parliamentary party would also boycott the Parliament till further notice.

Oppn huddles in nuke winter, flays BJP
While most Opposition parties blamed the BJP-led government for promoting a nuclear arms race in the sub-continent, saying that the party could not be trusted with the country's future, the Congress played it safe. The Congress issued a carefully-worded statement after an emergency CWC meeting which showed expressing its displeasure of the recent nuclear explosion and the its after effects which eventually will culminate in a arms race in the subcontinent.

Laloo bids to hijack more Dal MLAs
Rastriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo and former Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav is desperately trying to lure two more MLAs from the Janata Dal to prevent the disqaulification of the eight MLAs who have already defected to the RJD. Out of 29 JD MLAs in the House, eight joined the RJD on May 9. But for the split to be legal under the anti-defection law, the RJD needs two more JD MLAs to cross over to its side.

Digvajay agrees to six more districts
After carving out ten new districts, the Madhya Pradesh Government has in principle decided to create six more districts as recommended by the Re-organisation Commission. Besides making recommendations on the proposed districts involved in disputes, the Singh Deo committee, constituted by the state government, would also examine the similar demand from elsewhere in the state.
