MUMBAI, May 29: Sambhaji Kadam (Sangli) and Mithila Gujar (Satara) will lead Maharashtra in the boys' and girls' teams, respectively, in the 49th Junior National Basketball championships to be held at Patiala, Punjab, from June 1 to 8.THE TEAMS
Junior boys: Sambhaji Kadam (Sangli - capt.), Sachin More, Harpreet Singh (both of Bom North), Shailesh Saldanha, Matin Shaikh (both of Bom S East), Omkar Kadam, Apoorv Sontakke (both of Pune), Madhav Motghare (Nagpur), Harshal Gaikwad, Gaurav Kalia (both of A'Nagar), Bharat Shetty (Thane) and Daniel Kamle (Solapur). Coach: Ravindran Nair (Thane). Manager: Mahadeo Khatkar (Sangli).
Junior girls: Mithila Gujar (capt.), Pradnya Mane, Rashmi Yewale, Kanchan Nalawade (all four of Satara), Renuka Agarwal, Sapana Tunge, Khushboo Sancheti (all three of Pune), Nilambari Kane, Snehashree Desai (both of Nagpur), Anita Krishnan (Bom Central), Gayatri Manolikar (Thane) and Vandana Subramony (Bom S East). State Karate Fedn formed
The Maharashtra Karate Federation (MKF), State body for all styles, has been formed to educate people the sports value and especially the moral value and the medicinal value of karate.
