Dhaka promises to help India in tackling ultras

NEW DELHI, May 29: India and Bangladesh today agreed to curb smuggling and other trans-border crimes by exchanging operational information and implement the guidelines on illegal entrants from Bangladesh in "letter and spirit."

Bangladesh also said it would not allow its territory to be used for any insurgent activities against India and assured all help and co-operation in tackling insurgents from Nagaland, Manipur, Assam and Tripura. This was decided at the end of a four-day meeting between director general of Border Security Force E N Rammohan and Bangladesh Border Rifles Major Gen Mohd A Rehman here.
