Chips are up
It may be the biggest and the best. But Intel Corporation is not the only chip-maker in the world. While its Pentium chips have flooded the market to the extent of the brand becoming synonymous with the product, there are many other successful chip-makers in the world.

There are over 90 members of the Semiconductor Industry Association across the world, based in different countries. The total sales of the chip industry was $10.42 billion at the end of the last fiscal year. Its site at www.semichips.org has loads of statistics on this crucial industry. The site provides links to all its members. This sector was lobbied hard to lift the cap on the number of foreign engineers who could work in the US.
