EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, May 31: City residents can't be absolved of responsibility for the ongoing problem of low water and power supply.

While many citizens don't get even a bucketful of water, some `nature lovers' insist on watering their lawns with the drinking water supply in the morning hours. Many others must wash their cars daily. The fact that the Corporation has challaned only about 300 residents for watering of lawns shows the Corporation's lack of seriousness.

Engineering Department officials insist that those who use air-conditioners too should inform the department. But no action has been taken against those who have not done this.
