Bihar Governor prepares ground for Rabri's sack
Bihar Governor Sunder Singh Bhandari met Union Home Minister L K Advani yesterday and apprised him of the law and order situation in the state, fuelling speculation about the future of the Rashtriya Janata Dal Government there. During the 30-minute meeting with Advani, Bhandari is believed to have told the Home Minister that the law and order situation in the state required the Centre's attention.

Trinamool Cong not to budge from `suspending' support stand
The Trinamool Congress has refused to budge from its earlier decision of "suspending" support to the Centre and boycotting the Lok Sabha session. The party would formally demand the imposition of President's rule in West Bengal in view of the "sharp deterioration" of law and order, party spokesman Sudip Bandopadhyay said, after a meeting of the Trinamool MPs and leaders yesterday.

Moopanar may take Congress into DMK camp
The Congress-Tamil Maanila Congress co-ordination mooted by G K Moopanar could logically end in the Congress becoming a part of the Dravida Munnetra Kazagam front -- a bizarre equation, but could rake in majority of the Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu even if the AIADMK-led front secured the same votes as in the recent LS polls. Moopanar's call to the Congress to co-ordinate with the TMC even while the latter maintains that it would not sever ties with the DMK is seen as a-best-of-both-worlds strategy.
