Songs and dances, skits and limericks were the order of the day as students of various classes presented various facets of Indian culture.

The school's annual report presented before an audience of parents, siblings and special invitees stated that a national merit certificate was obtained by Tarunjeet Klair from CBSE for securing 97 marks out of 100 in mathematics. Five students made it to the NDA, while three entered the engineering stream. The school stood second in the Western Command declamation competition, while several prizes were bagged in painting, quiz and debate competition.

Art and craft as well as science exhibitions were also put up.

In his address, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Command, Lt Gen H.B. Kala, who was the chief guest, lauded the efforts put in by the students and the faculty. He, however, regretted the resource crunch, which forced the school management to raise the tuition fees.

The school principal, Col K. Shivprashad was awarded the Army Commander's Commendation Card for his services.

Earlier, president of Army Wives Welfare Association (Regional), Kusum Kala gave away the prizes and trophies for the year 1997-98. Those who received prizes for topping in their respective classes are : Anjana Ravindranathan (Class V), Meghna Tanwar (Class VI), Sukoon Bedi (Class VII), Pankaj Tanwar (Class VIII), Mandeep Bhullar (Class IX), Rajeev Pathania (XI humanities), Sheetal Arora (XI commerce), Prateek Sharma (XI non-medical), Prateek Narula (XI medical) and Vasundhara Gupta (XI medical for participating in HP state level badminton).

Tagore House bagged the trophies for academics, dramatics and sports, while Patel House lifted trophies for co-curricular activities,athletics, cross country and debate. The best kept house trophy went to Nehru House.

The sports scholarship for the year 1997 went to Vasundhra Gupta while the prestegious silver medal donated by 14 GRRC for the best all round student went to Abhilasha Singh.
