Golden double for Dutch
Spain got entangled in their own web of defensive hockey and the Netherlands, with an extra-time goal by Teun de Nooijer, won the ninth men's World Cup final 3-2 at the Galgenwaard Stadium in Utrecht on Monday. It was a golden double for the Dutch who had beaten Spain 3-1 in the Olympic final, two years ago in Atlanta. For Spain, it was their second defeat in the final, the earlier one being in the inaugural edition in 1971 when they lost to Pakistan.
