NAGPUR, June 3: The show-cause notice reportedly issued by the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) to legislator Satish Chaturvedi has not reached him so far.Chaturvedi told The Indian Express here on Tuesday that he came to know about the notice only from press reports and that he had not received any notice so far.
``Being the MLA from east Nagpur for three terms my address and fax numbers must be known to the MPCC general secretary, Gurunath Kulkarni, who has issued me the show-cause'', he quipped. MPCC president Ranjit Deshmukh confirmed at a press conference here on Monday that the notice was given to Chaturvedi on a complaint by MP Vilas Muttemwar that the Congress legislator had worked against him in the Lok Sabha elections. Denying that he received the show-cause notice, Chaturvedi expressed surprise that his alleged working against the party candidate in February has been taken note of almost after four months. ``This is also surprising because no such complaint was made to theAICC observer for Nagpur Lok Sabha constituency, Chourasia, during the elections'', he said.
The Congress observer had in fact praised the work of local party legislators in getting Muttemwar elected and had publicly stated so, he further pointed out.
