Boys' matches stalled

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PATIALA, June 3: The 49th Junior National basketball championship continues to be dogged as no match in the boys section could be held today as well, the third consecutive day of the meet. After apprehensions were raised over the age of some players, the organisers made it doubly sure to ensure medical tests of all the participants. The verification process has taken its toll as three days have already lapsed but there is still no sign of matches in the boys section so far.

Meanwhile, matches in the girls' section moved on despite all the hurdles.

Madhya Pradesh beat Chandigarh 51-13 while Kerala beat Rajasthan 63-13. In other matches, Bihar beat Haryana 22-16 and West Bengal beat Himachal Pradesh 30-16. Tamil Nadu got past Jammu and 56-21 while Uttar Pradesh beat Orissa 49-16.
