Sonia rejects Rao plea for RS ticket
Former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao who had formally applied for a Congress nomination to the Rajya Sabha from Orissa has been turned down by party chief Sonia Gandhi. No reason was apparently cited for denying him the nomination but sources said the rebuff indicated she had not yet forgiven him for ignoring 10 Janpath -- and those identified with it -- during the second half of his tenure as Prime Minister.

Temple and TN trigger walkout in LS
Enough heat was generated in the Lok Sabha on Friday to warrant walkouts by the opposition, including the ruling ally, the AIADMK, over issues ranging from the Bharatiya Janata Party allegedly going ahead with the construction of a temple in Ayodhya to the dismissal of the DMK Government in Tamil Nadu.
