Arantxa annexes French crown
Arantxa Sanchez Vicario claimed her third French Open title on Saturday with a 7-6, 0-6, 6-2 victory over triple champion Monica Seles at Roland Garros. Sanchez, who had never beaten her American rival on clay or in Grand Slam, reversed the trend with a patient and determined performance.

Friends get ready for battle
Friends Carlos Moya and Alex Corretja battle it out at the French Open today but both say Spanish glory is more important than individual honours. It is not the first time that two Spaniards have clashed in the Paris final but things have changed since Sergi Bruguera beat Alberto Berasategui in 1994.

Anupama blow for Bhagyashree
The highlight of Saturday's National Women's A Chess Championships was the clash of the big two of Indian women's chess scene -- Anupama Gokhale the defending champion and Bhagyashree Thipsay. Anupama won it to record her fourth consecutive victory after her two losses in the first two rounds.
