No power leaves them disappointed
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, June 10: The city football fans residing in Sector 29 were disappointed as they were unable to witness the opening match between Brazil and Scotland last night due to electricity failure in the area. Whereas the fans kept on calling their close friends and relatives to know the outcome of the match, the electricity department could barely do anything to help them.``Why did the electricity go off at this particular moment?'' rued Amit, a school going student who had been waiting for the Cup opener for days now. Amit had to rush to his friend's place to watch the game on TV. However, there were others who kept on hoping that a miracle might happen and they would be able to watch Ronaldo's dazzling skills. ``We called up the electricity department and asked them not to disappoint us but they could do nothing,'' said Vinay Kanwar, who is a footballer himself. Another footballer, living in the same area said, ``I have to call up my friend to know the score.'' When contacted, H S Brar of the engineering department said,``The fault is yet to be detected.''
