Panther shot in Torangal village in Karnataka

BELLARY, JUne 10: One of the two man-eater panthers, which killed a boy in Trangal village recently, was shot in the early hours of Wednesday. A panther has dragged Venkatesh (9) who was sleeping outside his house along with his parents and had killed him. The mangled body of the boy was found in the rocky hill adjacent to the main road. People staged a resta roko demanding steps to ensure their safety. The forest authorities launched an operation to either trap the two panthers in the area or kill the animals. People possessing guns participated in the operation and shot one of the panthers.
