It's G8 versus P5 in nuke talks
The Group of Eight industrialised countries meeting in London on Thursday to discuss India, Pakistan and Kashmir face an awkward task, disarmament negotiators in Geneva say. On the one hand, the group comprising four of the five nuclear weapons states is required to reflect the strong language of the P5 and the United Nations Security Council, censuring both countries for their nuclear tests.

India needs original strategies: Governor
Government intervention is necessary to keep the Indian economy on the right track, said Maharashtra Governor P C Alexander, justifying the Central policy of retaining control over industries. Addressing the concluding function of the silver jubilee celebrations of the Nashik branch of the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Governor commented that everything cannot be left to the laws of the market.

Accused in Coimbatore serial bomb blasts case nabbed
An offender in the serial blasts case, Pasheed (21), wanted by the crime branch of the CID was nabbed by the police in the city on Monday night. The state had announced an award of Rs 2 lakh on him. Pasheed came from Manyan Thottam on Thirumal Street, which turned out to be an arms godown of the fundamentalists.
