2 police teams launch hunt for accused in Vashi murder

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
JUNE 14: Two police teams have been despatched to Surat and Delhi for tracing Kamlesh Pandey, who allegedly murdered Tushar Mavani and Pratima Mavani at Vashi on Thursday evening.

Navi Mumbai police commissioner Sudhakar Ambedkar said: ``We have interrogated his friend Bharat Raut, a Nepali watchman at the Unit Trust of India building at Churchgate and got photographs of Pandey. Raut has also given us addresses of Surat and Delhi, and our teams have left to check the places.''

Raut told the police that Pandey earlier used to stay at Churchgate, but following a quarrel, he had shifted to Vashi. It is now confirmed that Pandey was actually a Nepali and had relatives in Surat and Delhi.Pandey is accused of killing Tushar Mavani and Pratima Mavani by a cricket bat and a kitchen knife.
