NEW DELHI, June 14: Two persons were allegedly murdered in separate incidents in the city during the past 24 hours.In the first incident, a 23-year-old man reportedly shot his mother-in-law in the Jagjit Nagar area last evening. The police said that the youth, Satpal, was separated from his wife Shiv Kumari for the past few months following some dispute. Shiv Kumari was staying with her mother, Sita Devi, during this period.
Yesterday, Satpal went to his mother-in-law's house and said that he wanted Shiv Kumari to return to him. Sita Devi, however, refused to oblige and rebuked him for the way he had treating her daughter. And infuriated Satpal took out his revolver and shot Sita Devi. She died on the spot. The police have registered a case, but Satpal is absconding.
In another incident, body of an unidentified man was found near a bus stop in Pitampura early this morning. The police said he had been strangled with a shirt. A case has been registered.
