Bootlegger arrested
One Akram Babu Ansari, a resident of Limbayat Mithikhadi, was detained under the Prevention of Anti Social Activities Act for his involvement in bootlegging, the police said. According to the police, the accused had been declared an absconder and ordered to surrender. He was taken into custody by PCB on Saturday and sent to Sabarmati Central Jail.Theft
Valuables worth Rs 39,000, including Rs 25,000 in cash were stolen from Sureshchandra Dansukhlal Baria' house, a complaint lodged with the Salabatpura police station said. Baria told the police that thieves broke into his house in Rustampura Moto Mohallo on Sunday and stole a black valet containing the cash, two gold bangles and a gold ring.
Burns death
A 24-Year-old woman who sustained burns while cooking at her house in Tapeshwari Society in Utran died at the New Civil Hospital while undergoing treatment there on Sunday, the police said. Anusuyaben Ghanashyam was cooking food in her house on June 10, when the stove exploded, the police added. She was later taken to the hospital where she battled for her life for four days. The Katargam Police have registered a case and are investigating.
Kidnapped
A 16-Year-old boy was kidnapped from Rangeshwar Society in Varachha last week, the police said. In a complaint lodged with the Varachha police station on Saturday night, Tejas's father Rameshbhai Ramani said the victim was standing in front of his house when the incident occurred a case had been registered and is being investigated.
